Biology: Hirogens are a humanoid race that stand about 2.5 meters in height and weigh roughly 220 to 260 pounds. They are exceptional trackers and posses a keen intellect. They are on average twice as strong as a human, and can easily understand many forms of communication. They have large dark eyes and ridged heads. The Hirogen employ the use of body armor that is extremely resilient to environmental conditions.
Society: A spacefaring nomadic race whose society has been completely based upon the ritual hunt for a millennium, despite there advanced technological status. All other species are viewed as prey, not equals, but only challenging prey are prized and pursued. Competition among males, hunting singly or in packs as "Alphas" and their subordinate "Betas," is for trophies or "relics" to display, including victims' skeletal remains, gutted organs and captured technology and artifacts.
History: The Hirogen Race was once a great society spanning the depths of the space. However several centuries ago the Hirogen became addicted to thrill of the hunt. Many years passed and more and more Hirogen left the safety of home to join the hunt. Ultimately very few Hirogen were left on their home world, and many of those who left have no knowledge of its location. In all actuality it is now a myth among the traveling groups of Hirogen hunters, a fable that is told round the trophy circle of a place where the hunt began. Now the Hirogen are a nomadic race traveling through the stars expanding their hunting territories in hopes of finding new prey.
