I've tryed to change AI_DesignCreation in the middle of my game to make troops larger and more competitive against fighters. After compiling and replacing old scripts in empire folders, AI went wrong. They ceased to built attack fleets, though still build and sent out scouts, patrol and colony ships. Unit production also went wrong, some races build only troops, others - no units at all.
One possible reason is that I've missed version defferences (game was started with mod version 1.19g, and new scripts were modified from sources of 1.19h). However, these versions should be savegame-compatible. What's the matter?

Well, if all you altered was the DesignCreation part, it's almost certain something you did is preventing the AI from producing workable ship designs.

Most parts of the file are used for both unit and ship design, so it'd be easy to do.

I recommend Winmerge, if you don't have it. It helps compare text files, highlighting the differences.

If you altered much more than DesignCreation, I have my doubts it'll be easy to track down. Are the new csf files reasonably close to the same size as the old ones? Might it be possible not all the elements were included during the compile process?

Thank you, actually, I've found the problem already. Key test was to try to compile the original source scripts on my machine without any modification. These compiled scripts also behaved wrong, for example, no colony ships were built.

Further investigation led me to the note on the SEV wiki: "Note: On systems that use "," for decimal places, you'll need to switch to "." when compiling files due to a quirk with SE:V's script parser. Otherwise, the compiled scripts will not work correctly. " ( This was the point. After changing my regional settings to USA everything was right.
