is there any way the scraping if old units cold be done in a screen format similar to the launch screen. now if you got a 100 out dated fighters it makes more since to sacrifice them then scrap them. Back to top
Each planet location is given 100 scrap points (or 50 in defense locations) to scrap units which are from obsolete vehicle designs. The older the vehicle design, the more likely it will be chosen for scrap. There is also a modifier here that increases the chance based on the resource situation. Once chosen for scrap, the scrapped unit subtracts a certain number of scrap points based on unit type (ie weapon platform 50, fighter 5 etc) from the allotted scrap point amount.
The idea is to weed out old units, which then increases construction demand for new units. Usually those new units will be queued preferentially to planets below their desired unit targets.
The AI has a pretty good idea which systems are border systems and does have much higher unit caps for colonies in those systems. It also designates certain colonies as "unit hubs" to build large numbers of units. This helps focus carrier or cargo transport efforts. Space Empires Depot | SE:V Balance Mod Back to top
