Damage types

I think such weapons as Ionic Disperser, Weapon Disrupter, Energy Dampener, etc. are not working! If I fire with them on enemy ship I can't see any effect! But if enemies are firing with them on me I can see the effect!
Could anyone help me?

Only thing I can think of to test is to mod the damage values on those weapons much higher than stock and time the enemy ship's maneuvers and weapon firing after being hit with those weapons.

I've tried to improve damage value to 9999 but again, when I fire upon enemy there's no effect, but when enemies fire upon me I can't move!

Haven't played Starfury in ages, but is it possible that the enemy shields are blocking the weapons?

Hmmm... I've never thought about that. I'll try to slow down enemy ships without shields.

No, shields can't block the weapons, I've just tried that. I'm confused because enemies can slow down me but I can't slow down them...
