Space Yard V's have a typo that prevents previous Space Yards from upgrading to SY5's.

I tripped over an unintended bug (.... does that mean that there can be intended bugs?) concerning the new Basic Units tech. I had originally set it to be a starting tech but it appears that you cannot add a starting tech to a game already in progress. So I've had to change it from a starting tech to a 1000 RP tech area.

If anyone has taken the patch for a pre-existing game, you will not be able to design any fighters as you won't have fighter cockpits! The change has been made and will be uploaded as such once I get home from work.

edit: PBW now has the corrected v4.16 up in both full and patch files.

Typo with the General Groups catagory for Mine Sweepers. It should be Weapons - PD, not Weapon - PD.

The full and patch files on PBW were not put together correctly. I placed the corrected files in the wrong subfolder. They have been corrected and PBW now has the most current and acurate version of DN4, v.4.16.

I just received an AMAZING bug report from one of the players in the PBW DN4 II game. I've posted it here in case anyone is curious and has suggestions for some of the more tricky issues.

v4.18 has had some of the issues corrected, but not all. v4.19 is the current bug report.

Infantry with Low Mount weapons have 0 hp and cause errors in combat processing with them present. Low and Premium (possibly Min) will be adjusted

It was pointed out to me (and I've tested and confirmed) that on High tech levels, the AI will not colonize any other planets. Very strange. Low or Medium tech levels and the AI's do just fine.

I don't know much about modding AI's but I'm going to make that a priority now. I'm going to go through the AI files and do some changes/updates that are nessesary for v4.20 as well.

What I don't know is precicely which versions this happens with. v4.20 I've checked and confirmed. v4.19 was what was originally reported. Does anyone have older versions installed to see if they do the same? I recall doing a test game with an older version that didn't have this problem. If I can identify when this changed, that will help be troubleshoot this issue.

AI will not colonize in v4.20

Okay, I found out what happened on this. I had added a new set of racial traits based on home planet types. But I forgot to adjust the AI files to reflect this. It's now what I'm working on.

Starting homeworlds have incorrect facilities.

Thanks to Fyron, I know what the issue is and will have that fixed later today, I hope...

v4.21 will be out within a day or so with these last few fixes.

Don't know if this one's dealt with, but:

Organic ships don't require life support / crew quarters. But any ship without those components can't move (or, at least, has huge penalties to movement). The solution is trivial: besides not requiring them, have the hull give Life Support / Crew Quarters abilities.

I'm pretty sure that's been dealt with already, or, at least, a potential workaround is in place, but not tested yet.

If you give the {Ship Bridge, Ship Life Support, Ship Crew Quarters} ability to the hull, and set the respective requirement to 0, you don't need to supply the respective for design eligibility and can avoid movement penalties.

Example: In Adamant 0.15.04, I've tested the Pirate Race and found that the Civilian Cruiser did not require Life Support or Crew Quarters (requirements was set to 0 and necessary abilities were implemented).

v4.23 to v4.25

I missed something kinda important making Spinal Mounts no longer researchable. The mount requires lv 3 Mil Sci, Construction, and Industry.

Not sure why but I only put Industry to lv2. On the fix list.

In some point Armor shell and Solar collection shell become obsolete.
Solar collection shell is upgraded through design upgrade in Stasis shell. Exclamation

Yes, this is an issue with the fact that to ensure that only 1 shell is put on a ship, they all have the same family number. By putting another component betwee them, I can basicly trick SEIV into not counting these items as "better" for the purpose of upgrades. All I need to do is re-space those and that'll be fixed.

Originally, I had something specific to go in there for that purpose but I'm not sure what happened to it.

DN 4.26
SE IV - patched to 1.95

I think this may be a bug:

In facilitiy.txt, should Advanced Supply System I have it's Roman Numeral set to 4 and it's Number of Abilities set to 6? (Corresponding changes to facilities II & III)

In a DN 4.25 game I was playing, the Advanced Supply System never appeared on the upgrade list & when I resumed the game on later days, it always seem to revert back to a Resuppy Base.
