I submitted a while back a lot of new components and such for the comp pack along with new facilities for the fac pack. From the looks of it, many others have done the same.

Do we have coordination on this or not? I will bet that many of us are now using the SAME numbers for our mods. This must be addressed and reconciled to avoid confusion and multiple mis matched image packs.

They're not in the latest pack?

I'll check to see if there are any extras left in my inbox.

I have several more to submit too, based on the mod Alikiwi and I and doing. Should I send them to you now?

I sent in a list a year ago. I have more to add. If you will recall I reserved a huge section of numbers. I nearly have them all filled now.

I reserved them a year ago. 2641 through 2856

I also sent you an updated comp pack and facility pack last year.

God damn it. You didn't add my images. Man I sent you like half a dozen messages about this a year ago. Sad This is why I sent all the info and reserved those numbers so long ago. I needed to be sure I could add them to the image pack without conflict. I even made posts about this in the shrapnel forums. You responded to those I believe. So please tell me these numbers are still good for me.

I don't think Black Knyght and I will have a conflict. I haven't sorted out component numbers exactly, but I am right on the verge of doing so! Currently I am checking files, testing the game (still lots to do) and have just looked at components and, not 2 hours ago thought, 'the component pack will need to be updated like the planet pack.'

Atrocities I will note your numbers and avoid them! Thats certainly easy enough to do. With what Black Knyght has done it will need a new component pack so perhaps yours can go in at the same time, somehow?

Having got the hang of it (I hope) I could update the component.bmp if I had the pictures, so we all have the same set and same numbers!

PS Nice to see you around..

This is just a quick note after a quick look. From what I've got component pack has been filled to number 2606 (with a lot of gaps).

Atrocities wants 2641 upwards, its made only to 2760 so far (which I can easily increase).

I see usuable gaps at 2492 - 2496
2273 - 2304
and a gap in armor 755 - 766 ( I can't use, BK has 18 units of new armor)

If I am in error, let me know, or if any other mod has used these numbers - ditto, let me know. This is only components and I'll have to go through all our notes on new components and sort into a sensible list and determine numbers for pics etc..

It would not be too clever to update the pack twice in a few weeks, so hopefully we can co-ordinate this, then theres facilities... Rolling Eyes

Thanks. I appreciate the cooperation. If they are taken let me know and I will talk to you about setting up a new block. I am revamping much of the mod that I started on a long time ago so I should be ok. I also wanted to add a crap load of new star trek images too.

None of what we have is set in stone, I've had a fair look at it, so your numbers are still free for you to use as far as I'm concerned. If we need any numbers we can move up to 2857 and continue from there. That would be 48 items that I've found so far... that need to start from 2857.

I'll let you know what else I work out as I get through it... fun a!

Since Alikiwi is already on the job, I'll let him get things arranged for you, and see if there is anything else to add before packing it up when he's done.

I do indeed have several components I'd like to add, but as to their exact numbering and such I'm open and easy going.

AT started his project long before mine, and to me that gives him precedence and prior claim to whatever numbering he wants.

All I'm concerned with is adding mine to an official listing, no more, and no less Very Happy

Smile The man is quite productive and under stated, "a few components"!

Try 130 odd components - so far! I've told Atrocities I have left him all the numbers he wants, so at the moment the highest component number I have on my revised list is 2933...

Now, where is that keyboard, I know I was using it... Wink

Who do we send them off to, and how do we get them done so, officially Wink

I know I did this once before, but I've changed computers twice since then and lost the details somewhere along the way Cool

Hm, I thought this was clear, apparently not. Laughing

You need to send them to ME! As I said, I have not touched the numbers Atrocities needs, ie 2641 - 2856.

I have number 2607 - 2640 and 2857 - 2933 (so far), still checking and I'm expecting more (apparently!).

I have not started adding any to the component.bmp yet as I still need a day or so to finish re-numbering whatever Black Knyght sends me and trying to have them in a sensible order. This also requires me to re-number the files that refer to the picture number or it would be a horrible mess Sad

I did email you Atrocities, to send me your pictures so I can add them to the component.bmp. When I'm done, I'll pass it to SJ to add anything he wants to add.

Visitors, back sometime!

If you can't find my email address its a_roberts@activ8.net.au
Back to sorting it all...

The components I have go to 2815. I still have enough to finish out the row but haven't got them done yet.

The file I am sending has an updated COMP.bmp and readme. It is 5.5 megs in size.

Yes, I've got that, nice work by the way. In your readme file you put reserved, 2816 - 2808! That could be tricky Laughing, so I assumed you actually meant to 2856 and changed the readme file accordingly.

I'm waiting on some more components from Black Knyght then I can start work on it, though I have to double check what I've sorted so far - almost done.

Oh, not sure if you realise but I've already done a planet pack update, I posted a seperate forum for that, just waiting for it to be checked and released. Facilities.. ssh, my heads spinning at the moment! Wink

Laughing No argueing that! And with an unusual number per row (24 not 20), you want to be careful with your numbering! I increased the chart size then found it wasn't big enough! I think someone snuck a few extra pictures onto my pc! So enlarged it again!

I've done up to 2921 so far (onto the component.bmp), with items numbered to 2966 so far waiting to be added. Its the preparation that takes time, but then pasting the minis on ain't exactly quick either! Still its getting there...

I usually paste my own mini's into place. I have a Comp.BMP file up to 3000. I like having open space to work with. Smile Any ways, I have used up all of the numbers reserved by me. Up to 2856. Past that all the way to 2300 is open.

Can you give me another block of 48 to reserver?

For a game that is never played any more it sure does keep ones interest.

It only Aaron would fix some of the bugs that still remain, and add in new features and abilities this game could be revived for another couple of years. Most glaring for me are:

1. Fix the AI so that it doesn't violate the restriction rules.
2. Add the ability for adding additional mandatory component to hulls.
3. Add the ability; 1 per Empire (For comps, facilities, hulls, etc)

Here are the latest images I have added. All the way to 2856 now. File includes new component images that I have made since the 14th, updated comp.BMP, and read-me.

Looks liike I'll have to reserve 3001 to 3048 for you, given I expect to get up to almost 3000 the way a certain gifted artist keeps coming up with some very interesting work! Laughing
