Give communications channels freely to everyone you meet so that trade treaties can be established with everyone ASAP.
Have at least a T&R alliance with everyone, preferably a Partnership. Plot to overthrow the Galactic Council at your own (and everyone else's) peril. The monsters here are played by humans, and will not roll over and play dead just because every warp point from their home systems is blanketed with mines and a substantial fleet.
Weapon platforms can be quite a powerful defense thanks to their half-price +25% damage +3 range +50% to-hit bonus Ground Battery mounts. Use them.
If there are any Nomads out there, your almost-maintenance-free ships are an excellent trade commodity.
If you have any questions about how the mod works, from what's good to research to "how the %^*& to I fit a 3000kt colony module on a 330kt colony ship" to "why doesn't my new solar sail tech drastically speed up my ships", don't be afraid to ask either in this forum or in the main Adamant Mod forum. Colonizing techs in Adamant are actually racial techs, so they are only tradable between races that have the same planet type and would therefore have to have actually spent the research points to get the techs they're trading - unless, of course, you picked the wrong colony type advanced racial trait, in which case most people would say you cheated if you did it intentionally, and you are penalized by having your native colony modules cost twice as much to build as normal (8000 of everything instead of 4000).
Tech trading between races with different paradigms (normal/organic/magical) is limited to the very small number of techs that are not dependent on those paradigms. Back to top
You may trade tech, but not directly. Direct tech trading is disabled. You must first build a prototype vessel which possesses the tech you wish to trade and then trade that. Keep in mind what Douglas said about tech trading in Adamant. "The difference between very sophisticated technology and magic is a very blurry line,” Dean Kamen, Wizard of IT Back to top
How exactly do you give someone a gift? What I'm doing isn't working. (I went into the empires screen, selected the empire I wanted to give a gift to, hit the option "give gift," selected the ship, hit close, put in a brief message, and sent it.) Back to top
