Never mind. Rechecked math, Planet Value is being properly applied.

Mod: BM 119i

I just did a calculation of all maintenance costs on one of my planets. I included the costs of all cargo and satellites and factored in the Societal Malus/Bonus. What I found was my Mineral Miner facility was producing its full amount; an amount that was not factoring in any planetary value.

Example data...

Planet Value:
Minerals: 10%
Organics: 50%
Radioactives: 100%

Mineral Miner:
Level 1, generates 2000 minerals.

Now I thought the Planet Values were multipliers of the amount a facility could produce, e.g. The above Mineral Miner facility would produce 10% of 2000 per turn or 200 minerals.

  1. <strike>Is my understanding of how planet values affect production facilities correct?</strike>
  2. <del>If a planet's value is not used then what purpose do Planet Value Improvement facilities provide?</del>
  3. How are maintenance costs calculated?

My ministers are "more sinisters than ministers".

Planet value does work. You can see the gross resource generation on the colonies report screen.

Maintenance costs are a set percentage of vehicle design. I don't recall BM's offhand, but in Skymod it's 10% of build cost for ships and bases. This amount is then subject to modifiers in game, cultural achivements and racial traits etc. All maintenance modifiers stack.

You're right, my math was wrong and I may have initially missed production increases for happiness and amount of population. Gonna edit the OP.
