Helo. Question here.
Frigate with several engines, star destroying module and drove it to star. "Destroy Star" command aaaaaaaaand nothing happens.

Any idea what's wrong?

Did the ship have any movement points left when the order was issued?

2\3 when I first tried. Now it's sitting there with 3\3 points left and can't do a thing.
Tried to rebuild it with 2000 supply points instead of 1000 but it did nothing. Right now building Destroyer class just to see if smth gonna change from it.

UPD
Destroyer just got constructed. Noooo effect. DOesn't work.

Large yellow one. Double star system. Need to blow it, then assmeble new star to put Dyson Sphere there.

My Star Manipulation research is at lvl 2 (max)

Did some quick tests. It seems the "small systems" messes up the blocked hex radius value for stars. The hex holding the star should be red (indicating it is blocked for movement) but it shows as green - although it still allows no movement. Somehow it is broken. I will try some experiments to see what I can do to fix.

Well, just toyed with bigger star - one that has 2 circles of red hex around it - no changes.
Went to small star with no red zone aroun it and for which you can drive ship right to the edge of it, like 1 hex from the central one. Nothing.

Also a question then. WIll explosion of a star completely elliminate all planets in system or turn them into asteroid belts?

The only way I was able to get it to work was set the blocked radius value for stars to 0.

The star will explode and destroy everything in the system. In the place of planets, you'll get asteroid fields.

Huuumm. So ship and star need to occupy same place... What about increasing range of star destroying torpedo? Give it like 3-4 hexes range?


Also on unrelated topic - Incinreator beam and wave-motion gun has identical description - "Long range high intencity fusion beam"

Turns out it was an easy fix. You can change the "Stellar Nucleonic Torpedo" Ability 1 Amount 2 value to something like 4 or 5 to fix. This represents the distance the weapon is effective from. You can set ability 1 amount to 0 as well - it doesn't do anything.

Perhaps an "at distance [%Amount2%]" in the description would be in order? And is that distance from the center of the star, or from the center of the system?

That's no space station - it's a spreadsheet!
