Beam (SE4-style beam): Uses ECM/Sensors values to determine if it hits. Stretches the image into a long, thin connection between gun and target.
Bolt (SE4-style torp): Leads its target, flies in a straight line. Image lies flat on the XY plane. The direction "right" in the BMP, is pointed in the direction of travel. Note that scaling the width and height of the weapon scales its BMP! So setting the width larger makes the bolt look tall and skinny when fired.
Seeking Torpedo (no SE4 match): Does not lead target. Uses the turn rate value to slowly correct its course towards the target. Image lies flat at first, although it seems to bank or something as the torpedo turns.
Torpedo (SE4-style seeker): Leads its target, flies in a straight line. Image faces directly towards the camera.
