I had a thought about making it so that you could 'land' on any planet by simply turning on the Shuttle Over option for every moon and planet. Except for perhaps gas giants or other totally inhospitable locations. All of the 'unsettled' planets would have very little available on the surface except for perhaps storage (at no cost obviously)

2 reasons:
First, it gives everyone a chance to 'store their booty' virtually anywhere. and on a map this big, it could be easy to forget where your treasure is buried.

Second, this could represent events we've seen in the movies such as the Millinium Falcon hiding out in the asteroid field (that may be possible even).

Okay, 3 reasons:
Third, some locations may even hold an unknown surprise like Luke going to Dagobah, for instance.

That said, don't expect there to be anything on Dagobah but there could be somethings hidden in other rare spots.

what about just an idea here, ownership of a planet, or at least the ability to get something from them, like owning facilities or the deeds of the facility, based on the fact that you can recieve X amount of credits for completing a mission (like a bounty) couldn't you for example purchase the deed to a palace as a commodity type item and after X days game time you recieve something like 170k credits (bear in mind the palace would be worth a couple million credits)

You could own taverns, houses etc etc

Hmmm. That might be possible. I haven't looked at the nature of missions and events yet. I'll see what's possible.
