where to start

Alright, I've gone through the data files and it looks like we've really got to start with some of the visual stuff first. Like the ships and the maps. I don't see why we can't use the stock planets so that cuts out a bunch of work there. I'm going to start with map details if you can focus on the ships. Then we'll see what's next.

As for ships, lets just focus on the 'main' ones to start. We can add fighters and some of the more obscure ships later. What we do need are the player ships for starting and the easily recognizable ones like star destroyers and such.

Once the maps are done, then we can start filling in the blanks in the other files like stores, enemies, etc.

To start on the maps, I've got to get some details on the CampaignData.txt file first. I'm making notes in an Excel spreadsheet as well.

i'm finding .3ds or max meshes to convert to .x format, it's gonna be a busy week next week with universty works having to be done. I'll see what i can do for basic ships.
