i want a mod that allow my race to breath any atmosphere. i want to pair this with the racial triat mechoid so i can really feel like one. i feel incompleted with the normal setting for mechoid since you are forced to pick an atmosphere. since when do andriod need to breath air? if anyone can whip up such a mod, i would greatly appreciate it. but i want to be the only one that can access this feature. i don't want computer to have access. is there a way to do this? You can add an "or" requirement to each colony tech giving it to a player with a new trait (player mechanoid or something like that), but I wouldn't recommend it. It will unbalance the game big time. If you insist on doing it, give player mechanoids some major disadvantages like doubling or even tripling colony ship maintenance and supply usage to slow down your early colonizing rush. AI won't be able to compete otherwise, and the game will get dull quick. Perhaps, if we were to plant spore sacs in your brain organ and let its tendrils spread through your flesh, then you would truly understand Juffo-Wup... become part of Juffo-Wup. Back to top
I think that is a great idea for an android culture.
I don't think it's possible to mod a race to breathe all atmospheres equally well, but it would be no trouble to give them a fast, cheap atmosphere converter. In exchange give them 0% reproduction and an emotionless ability.
Since they are mechanical, have each facility kill off a small number of them per turn. In order to reproduce to make up for losses, you would have to build more population via facilities. A cloning tanks style facility to generate new population would be the only way to reproduce. If you give the facility a low build cost and a high maintenance cost you can make reproduction a huge drag on the android economy. If you want to get fancy, you could have an event script destroy the reproduction facility after a few turns, so you would need to burn SY time to keep your population up, too.
