Is there any way to make the Remote Mining tech unavailable?
For some reasons the AI wants to do nothing more than make Attack Ships out of remote mining platforms. This turns fun games into trivial ones.
I'm a newbie to all this modding, so I'm not sure how I can make that tech unavailable.

Basically no it can't be removed, unless you start playing with the tech file and make removing it (at game setup) true, rather than false.
I've played a few games of Star Trek and haven't noticed that problem. I'm assuming its STM not AST?
There seems to be two techs, remote mining plus remote mining ships. Allowing them to be removed would be your only answer.

You can change the tech to be removable during game set up. Or you can just change the components to require a super high tech number.
Where we're going we won't need roads.

If I ever get around to updating the mod I'll make remote mining a human only trait. The AI is very annoying to say the least.

Hopefully SE 4.5 will have a smart AI that makes use of remote mining. Meanwhile some of us are playing this mod via PBW2 and I am playing the Federation and giving the Romulans a taste of democracy. The Dominion though sure have good spies
