I have (like thousand others i guess) some idea for new mods...

In space empires 4 (and also 5 i hope) we have planetary ans star destroying weapons (the stellar manipulation category i mean) and also creator (genesis weapon wp point opener ecc) i was thinking to provide such weapons for larger starships... maybe in a black market shops or having it for free after a difficult quest :/ (it would be fun peps listen to me)

Also i thought of a random npc generator (to make the game more arcade) for kind of neutral ships space pirates and even space monsters (you know we need to kill some sentient crystal or a space ameba or kalamar from time to time XD) the killing of this random npc will give the player a small amount of xp. titles as space monster killer or such... and materials lost from the destroyed ship also recollectable by our ships with a training beam or teleport (or something like that)

another good idea (maybe more simple than the others) would be the access to mining quests or simple mining from asteroids and void space for raw materials with fictional names to be sold in spaceports for money (a little lucrative here)

i dunno if these are good or bad ideas... so let me know... and let me know if they're buyldable :/ (sorry for bad english...)

I doubt any people are regular SF players anymore but I know theres a group and start it up whenever a new mod is released to give it a run through.

well it's a nice game Sad
and the opportunity to mod it pratically "how you want" is great Rolling Eyes
maybe later on i will start a mod on my own but i was merely capable of creating basic SUBmods for the atrocities mod in se4 i guess 3d thingies are just to complicated for me...
my best wish? to play even a normal campaign but at least with different shipsets (including starbases... i'd prefer to see a federation one instead of the terrans)

but i can see just two people working on modding actually...
i just hope the starwars mod to be finished son

There is a 3d Federation shipset for SEV. You can convert those ships/bases for use in Starfury. I think there is a FAQ around somewhere that tells you how to do the conversion.

I've always liked SF, too. I play on a semi-regular basis.

indeed i've found a faq eheh... but it seems a lot complicated to do it on an entire shipset... Sad at least for me
though i think seriously to get my butt on the work someday... if no mod will go out

Porting over SE5 ships into StarFury is actually easier then I thought it would be, as you'll see the StarFury: Star Wars mod is kicking into gear now that SW shipsets have been released for SE5 that we can port over to StarFury (I took the Cruiser from the Separatist Shipset and put it into StarFury last night as a test run)

So there is going to be a mod, Bearclaw responded to me last night excited at what we can now put into StarFury, so there's a chance now that we'll be seeing this mod sometime soon depending on how much effort we put into it.

excellent it's a good news
even though i'm waiting more for the stargate mod
however i'm of this idea... if we keep in a mod all the secondary and side missions of the main original quest as to mantain open ended the mod it will be great
