I was considering something a little different for the FNS Firefly. Given its name and original configuration, I assume it is the first Firefly class frigate to have entered service.
The Firefly Class has been the backbone of the FWNS for several years and examples can also be found in the service of System Lords and PMCs. As a sign of respect to the brave service people who have served onboard Fireflies and as a tribute to the class I propose the FNS Firefly be retired from service and become a museum ship, most likely placed in orbit around Lirketh.
Alternatively, if you believe that the current threat to Federation is such that every ship, even the venerable Firefly, is needed on the frontline I will perform the retrofit at cost price, 1190min, 800org and 3835rad.
The repurchase price for the ship will be 4000min, 1000org and 5500rad. SL Heimdall of House Bifrost (PBC IV)

I didn't consider that. It is true that is one of the first ships in Naval service. Although the damage has been repaired, it hasn't been retrofited to a new design yet.
Now what benefit can we get from it being a museum ship? Tourism? National Pride? History?
It isn't neccessarily needed. This might be a good idea if done right.
**OOC**
I like the idea, but I would like to get some input from SJ on it. Firstly if we are going to make a 'museum' ship of it, I think it would be cool to gain some kind of minimal benefit from it.
Some examples:
System/Empire wide morale
Resource generation (tourism)
Any others we can think of?
Nothing big, just a little nudge. Also I figure anything we change/retrofit it to to represent these benfits will only take effect if we don't mothball it, so someone would need to pay the maintenance. Since it was your idea, I figure you, or the federal government will pay to keep the museum running.
Also do we keep the gun on it? Just in case we have to press it into emergency service for some reason. Do we remove it to put in the museum facilities? More than likely we would have to put in a few system automations, and take out the LS/CQ, to fit in any new components for the museum/benefits stuff.
So what are your thoughts? FSL Kana/CNO F.W.S.N/FNS Brawler (PBC IV) Back to top
