Greetings!

I have started working on converting the Space Food Empires mod over to Space Empires V. I have already done some work on the foundations including the tech areas, racial traits, and the beginnings of the empire files. The one entry for components and facilities should speed up things on the data entry front. Also my experiencing from developing the Balance Mod for SE:V should help speed up things as well.

I think one of the problems that made the version for SE:IV so time consuming to work on was a result of the highly branched tech tree - that is I used unique tech areas for almost every item available in the game. Although this would allow for highly customized research for a player, it made working on the AI research files a major PITA. For the SE:V version I plan on condensing many of the tech areas into larger ones which should really help speed things up. The tech tree combined with my propensity to revamp areas on a whim was probably the main reason why I never got out that 0.30 version of Space Food Empires- but I'm glad I did at least make a mini-mod (Kwok's Galaxy Mod) so it wasn't a complete waste.
