I just realized - you can rename the AI Tag abilities to something more meaningful by editing MainStrings.txt! Shocked This could prove useful... Very Happy

Another cool thing you can do with MainStrings.txt is rename unit types (and still keep the cargo icons over planets) - if you rename drones to gunboats, then the drone icon will appear over planets containing gunboats in cargo (assuming you enable the appropriate in-game option)! And of course, just edit the icons bitmap if you don't like the pictures you've got!

Are you still limited to 20?

Yes, but unfortunately you still can't have in-cargo icons for gunboats as well as drones.

Yes, you're still limited to 20 AI Tag abilities.

True, you can't have gunboats and drones, at least unless you get rid of another unit type instead of drones. But if you don't have any more unit types than stock has, you should be good!

You can also rename the data file functions... Smile

Might confuse other modders, but it could also make your data files more readable!

This is a bad idea all around. Malfador erred when creating the localization files, and put _everything_ into the language file. Ability strings, function names, etc. should not be translated or modified. This already causes massive problems preventing people with non-English versions of the game from even being able to run any mods. If modders start mucking about with these strings, they will create data file entries that cannot be shared or learned from very easily.

Smarter than your average Texrak.
