Here are some details on construction in the Nova mod:

Space Yards are 2000kT in size and use resources at a ratio of 2:1:1 minerals to organics to radioactives. With improving technology, you can build a 1000kT Space Yard Expansion on planets that have existing SY facilities to improve their base construction rate. You can also build a Components Factory, 2000kT, which will modify the space yard rate for all SYs (planet or vehicle based) in the system.

Planet population modifiers will also play a more important role in construction rates then they do in BM or stock. Lowly populated planets will be slow, but not unbearably slow.

SYs can still repair, but specialized 500kT Repair Yards will do it more efficiently. There are also Scrap Yards, 500kT, which will reclaim a greater proportion of resources from scrapped ships.

On the components side, there are ship and base versions of the SY component. Ship-based SY components will be less efficient at construction versus SY bases. Same goes for repair components.

Question, can I put multiple space yard expansions on a planet? I'd very much like to be able to do a specialized construction yard planet, same as resource gathering planets.

So, If I can add multiple space yard expansions...

There's only 1 Space Yard Expansion allowed per planet. But there's plenty of options to increase rates further - Components Factory, Habitats, etc. Plus a number of other support facilities to fill up construction planets like Repair or Scrap Yards, training facilities...

I have another idea... Increase production by power plants. Specialized power plant making energy for the space yard. It could cause lower costs for builded ships or higher rate.
