I also find it sad that Stars! Supernova will never apear. So fare I readed it the bad sell results of MoO 3 was the final point for them to trash the project.

I played Stars! before I discovered SE. I absolutely loved it. I would actually print out maps of my empire and take them to work to hang in my cubicle.
At some point my floppy disk got corrupted and that was the end of Stars! for me. I was really looking forward to Stars Supernova Genesis.
I realize that Stars! was not as sophisticated as SEIV, but I wish I still had a copy of the game. I had so much fun with it and I would still play it as a change of pace. It [and SEIV] are to me what games should be--compulsively playable and customizable.
Many games today remind me more of interactive movies than games. They don't appeal to me at all.

But yeah, it was a nice game. I loved how detailed race customization was. SE5 needs more of those "stat"racial traits.

If you still have that Stars! floppy you should be able to get the activation code off the label and use it to activate any Stars! installation.
