New Components!
Autocannon WIP
Twin Laser WIP
I've decided to scrap Golden Eclipse Mod and use it's resources on a different construction. If the momentum holds, I will continue to post samples. Once I have decided what direction this new project will take, I will give more information.

Looks like a lot of hard work went into all that detail, certainly looks like a professional job.

Completed lasers!
Light Laser Cannon
Medium Laser Cannon
Heavy Laser Cannon
You will notice that the components are being done in threes. That's how the new mod I am working on will do all weapons. As weapons get larger, their damage output raises dramatically, but they lose accuracy. Since each vehicle size will have combat offense and defense modifiers, the larger weapon's accuracy loss is less noticeable when the target is equal to or larger than the attacker.

So, does this mean 538 new components already in the pipeline ain't enough? Oh, and something like 240 were made by you, about the same by AT.
Ah, I get it you were fishing for a bite from me, ops, I bit

Railguns looks awesome, as does the lasers. I have to complain slightly about the autocannons though. They don't really look like machineguns-projectile cannons, but more like some form of railgun as well.
A multibarreled approach or less of a "ooh shiny high tech" look would perhaps look better. (just my opinion)
That's just the design though. The actual modeling work and texturing is VERY nicely done. Impressive!

Well, it's shiny high-tech because it's going on a space ship. If you do a Google image search for autocannon, most of what you see is a single barrel weapon.

Maybe you are thinking of a gatling gun?

Yes, generally an autocannon is a cannon which fires automatically (go figure) Generally they just look like a cannon cause their feed mechanism and all that is usually housed in a turret.

KevinArisa,
What programs are you using to make and render your WIPs? Also, what light settings are you using? The shadows and lights are amazingly sharp, I don't think my default color pallet could produce those.

The models are all created in Rhino 3D and rendered with Flamingo Raytracing. Basically there are three points of light being produced off-screen. One is a soft flood light that illuminates most of the scene. Another is a direct overhead light to produce the lighted areas and main shadows. Then there is a soft gold colored light near the bottom that gives the reflected "daylight" effect.

There's some work being done now to add a number of new component images to SE4. Would you object if these were also included, or do you prefer the be for SE5 only?

Everything I make is fair game, so use it for whatever you want.
Only thing I would object to is claiming you made it.
