|
|
Welcome.
After our successful operation in Worric were we captured an enemy planet, without a single ship getting scratched, it's time to look elsewhere. Clearly Sundry is the nearest and easiest option and will protect our south western flanks. This will make the capture of Melbor and Kennelworth systems a little easier later on.
General plan, is take Sundry VII first, one defense platform noted. I will strengthen Sundry Vs' fighter forces first, upgrade HHS Hermenis reload with more fighters. If the Navy is agreeable, I'll reload the troop transports and move them to Worric 0, 10 in anticipation.
Thoughts, comments Gentlemen?

The concentration of Navy forces in Worric and Sundry makes this target the most logical. Given Federation experience, I doubt we have much to worry about from the Ukra-Tal.
However, there is a large Cue Cappa presence in this area. Based on design information, they may be more advanced in weaponry, shielding and hull construction. Suggest caution be taken around them.

I think its time to liberate Sundry! I will move those 2 troop transports onto the sundry w/p in Worric.
1) I propose they merge with your fleet Prophet.
2) Kotau has 31 ships on the other side, ideally the loose ones should move to sundry 10, 3 (not this turn but next)
3) His main fleet, again next turn not this one, should move to 9, 2
4) Next turn after you get my transports, you would also move to 10, 3 in sundry.
5) Turn after that Kotau attacks from both sides, Prophets fleet holds off with the transports to the following turn pending a successful outcome from the initial asault.
Thoughts gentlemen?

I will be concentrating on the small CueCappa fleet to the south before committing to planetary invasion. Also, Lords of interest, planets with compatible structure for us to easily colonize(rock), I think would be more quickly conquered with planetary bombardment than troop involvement. I have several ships on order.

As I have said before System Lord, your contract does not include offensive operations. Dragonstar's mission in House Hermes space is one of defense. Invading Sundry is outside our obligations.
However, I am sure we can come to some sort of an arrangement if you really need Dragonstar assistance. A separate short-term (ie, just for the attack) contract could always be signed. If you are willing to pay, we will be more than happy to escort your troop transports. Let me know if you are interested.

Kotau, I can understand you wanting to clear those enemy ships. Your other comment doesn't make sense. Currently I don't think theres a single rock planet colonised so theres nothing to conquer. The fact the enemy is on ice planets is irrelvant, we can capture them just as easily. It happens to be near our w/p and needs to be liberated to help reduce attacks on that w/p.
I'm assuming you aren't going to stay on it forever.
Obviously I will have to hold off now, but I would like the attack started before I try colonising more planets. I'd like to split the enemies focus if I can.
Prophet, of course we would happily pay for that which is outside of normal operations. I will also look at building a colony ship for rock, hopefully to time it with our attacks, or just after perhaps.

I will put together a draft contract now.

Good thing too. We are have a new carrier passing through Fizbon right now, heading for Squad Two. And we have ships conducting retrofits.
Do you have a timetable for when you'd like to launch this assault?

Sooner rather than later. Kotau will take care of that fleet then I should imagine he will limp but up, need some repairs which can be done (slowly) in Sundry. That will give time to bring in a few more ships.
I will have a look tomorrow and see if there's any chance of getting some of Astoraxs ships. I am concerned that any major delays will see our enemies return with bigger fleets, like the one we just dodged in Kennelworth!
I have refitted my other Hermetic class and am loading it with fighters and sending to the Sundry w/p in Worric. I also have a new SYS ship, but that will head to Fizbon, w/p for Melbor. So a little time yet...

Commodore Astorax's ships are tasked to help SL Illuminati in his attack on enemy assets in the Sephandis system I believe.

I see. We currently have two warships returning from retrofits on Worric IX. And we have a new carrier entering Worric this month from Fizbon.
Would you like all of DD Squad Two to participate in the invasion?

The Cue fleet is destroyed from the Sundry->Sephandris warp point. Casualties light, but many of my direct fire assault ships were crippled. Luckily only one point-defense ship was taken out of commission.
At my current fleet speed I will arrive in 3 months with 21 ships or in 2 with 17 ships (the loss of only one PD ship).

Due to the rather large Terran carrier that assaulted the warp point, Dragonstar will need to withdraw 2 warships for repairs. If you plan on launching this invasion soon, they will be unavailable.

This is why I give up on this game... I gave orders for my troop ship to be sent to Sundry VII to drop those troops as per my last WRITTEN orders
At Worric 0,10 (w/p to Sundry) 3 ships, HHS Hermenis, HHS Hermetic, HHS Great Monzo, SHIFT Click and send to Sundry VII
However once again, its stuffed up and they are heading to worric VII instead! Too damn frustrating.

The occasional mistake is bound to happen.
Sounds like you need a vacation. I hear that the ice canyons on Gizzar IX are beautiful this time of year.

So what is being done to put more troops on Sundry VII, so that Commodore Kotau's remains can be found?

FSL Kana I hope between you and Ali something can be worked out. Something as simple as having ships hop off and on the planet will inspire our troops planetside to take multiple offensive actions per month. On the other hand more troops couldn't hurt along with the above strategy.

I believe the dear system lord from House Hermes is gone. On a related note, Dragonstar Defense is no longer contracted to defend House Hermes space. We will be withdrawing from the Worric system.
