It would be best to show with an example:
Take 5 layers of 10% shielding which overloads at 125 points, and a weapon hit for 300 damage.
Shield #1: 300 damage incoming. 300/125 = 2.4 (Round down!), so the generator suffers 2 points of overload damage. The shield also reduces the damage from 300 to 270. (Round up!)
Shield #2: 270 damage incoming. 270/125 = 2.16, so this generator suffers 2 points of overload damage as well. The shield reduces the damage from 270 to 243 (270*.9)
Shield #3: 243 damage incoming. 243/125 = 1.94, so only one point of overload damage this time. Damage is reduced from 243 to 219.
Shield #4: 219 in. One point of overload. Reduces damage to 198.
Shield #5: 198 in. One point of overload. Reduces damage to 179.
179 damage points are left to hit the hull, instead of 300. Back to top
Hi, thanks for the answer.
But what do you mean with first placed first hit? Where is place 1? Or does it matter if I first playe the shield generators on the upper deck and then in the midl`le deck, or first the middle and then the upper deck, when I design the ship? Back to top
It's the order in which you add the shield generators. The first one you place (regardless of where it is) will be the first to take damage. Space Empires Depot | SE:V Balance Mod Back to top
