If you colonize a planet with ruins there's a chance that you get a unique technology.
In the tech-area file I found 6 unique techs.
Every unique tech has a number associated with it like:

Empire_Has_Found_Unique_Discovery(3) for Neural Computer Interface Tech

The techs and their corresponding numbers are:

1. Massive Shield Depleting Weapons
2. Massive Engine Destroying Weapons
3. Neural Computer Network
4. Massive Planetery Shielding
5. NO ENTRY Question
6. Power Leech
7. Shield Implosion

Am I the only one never getting Power Leech or Shield Implosion or has it something to do with not existing #5??

I heard in the IRC channel that they (#6 & #7) were unused last night.

I've made the necessary fixes for v1.09 - however they will only take effect with newly generated quadrants.

Just an FYI... but this was indeed included as a fix in v1.09.

It has to be a map generated with v1.09 since planets with ruins are made during that stage. A save game from v1.08 or earlier already has this info stored in the save game file and can't be modified via changes to the data files.
