Here it is, the result of a month's work. I hope that some time this one will be called Ygath.

VERY nice - I think it fits the race description and ideals well.

Any news on when any of the shipsets asociated with your latest pieces of artwork are going to be released Kwayne? I would like to add those to my games
Anyhow, here's my latest race, the Tjondrelm:
Basically I wanted to draw something with fur, since I hadn't tried that before. I'll make a neutral race out of this somewhere in the comming days.

I dunno, ask albi_joe. I'm still waiting for a complete Ygath shipset.
BTW, that portrait is so beautiful that my eyes are eager to jump out of my skull to eat my monitor.

Personally, I think you BOTH are amazing !!!
What're the odds you take requests???

|
|
I don't have much free time for requests, but the portraits that I have created are free to use for anyone that wants to create a shipset.
If a shipset is completed for one of these races, I will remove that race from the neutral pack, so that the race in question can live on as a true race from that moment.
In other news: the Tjondrelm are now available in the latest version of the Neutral pack ( which also includes the previously released Jirwick and Othosk)
The neutral pack should be compatible with any mod that has a working default AI.
You can download it here:
http://www.shrapnelcommunity.com/threads/download.php?Number=566279
changelist since version 1.00:
version 1.10:
- Added the Tjondrelm neutral race.
- Fixed some graphical artifact issues with the Othosk flag set.

I wonder what inspired you to make the Tjondrelm
I think the two other specimen in the background are a bit too sharp, they distract the attention from the forward one.

They don't seem very sharp to me.

I did mute the colors and decrease the contrast on the distant hoverworts somewhat to make them appear far away. Maybe I should have slightly blurred them as well to make them seem out of focus.
Inspiration for the Tjondrelm came from mammoths, or more specifically mammoth fur, the rest of their design came from some quick sketches, can't remember what I was thinking exactly .

I know I haven't checked in in a while...
I've basically dropped SE5. I've had a number of changes in my life that turned off my "artwork" bug.
I think I posted my latest work a while back, and I apologize to those who've been patiently waiting.
If someone wants to pick up the pieces & finish what I did, be my guest. (If for some reason the models are not around, send me a PM and I'll try to get back to you in a week or 2.)

This one is a composite of the techniques I experimented with. The head was made from clay, the body was painted without a sketch, the fighters in the background were 3D models. Making this pic took a long time, I don't even remember when I started working on it. It's partially because my job drains a serious amount of energy out of me.
BTW, this portrait is my oldest concept from my SEIV period. The name of the race is Droon. I don't know if I will ever make a shipset for this one, SEV's AI being as it is isn't an encouraging fact.

Great artwork, I really like the use of color in this one.
It's sad to see that most of your recent portraits have not been released for the game because of a lack of shipsets.. Perhaps you could release them as neutral races for the time being? They could be upgraded to normal races once the shipsets become available.
