Here is my attempt at a race portrait. Well in all honesty it took me three minutes to do so I don't know if its considered artwork but here it is.

Thanks, BK! But what do you mean by "the way these came out"?
Compared to the stock portraits my technique changed (perhaps advanced) a great deal along with the equipment I use. I'm considering some cosmetic work on some stock races. I'm sure that the Phong, Jraenar and Krill need to be fixed, and I already have a better Chryslonite portrait.

All I meant by "the way these came out" was that your rendition of these races looked good. I very much like your style.
I've noticed an evolution of technique in your work, too. It was good to begin with, and has definitely picked up a certain flair along the way. It'd certainly be interesting to see what you'd do with those races now, compared to you original efforts (Which, by the way, were good too).

Well there's no doubt his work is superb. Now if you look at the facility I posted (in 'my first shipset', you'll see his Maori race emblem on a building... and I love the race portrait he did for that as well.

Hey all... Not sure if you read, but I updated a few existing race pictures myself (Borg, Goa'uld...) and I'm planning to add them in a big race pack, when all work is finished.
I'm also quite handy with graphic programs, so creating race custom pictures is no problem for me (my avatar for instance)
Just my 5 cents, bye

You're always welcome to show off your works even if the whole project isn't complete. Besides, I'm curious.

Damn nice work. Your style has evolved so impressively!
I really like how you managed to include the age spots on the Centauri's forehead, and the whitish area on the Minbari where their bone ridge and skin meet.

I found an interesting art tutorial and some neat game redesign ideas by Niklas Jansson, whose work inspired me to try some new ways of moving my pen around. I'm nowhere near his excellence right now, but I thought to show something that could be an alternative visual interpretation of a SE race, the Cue Cappa in this case:

Looks like I found a another way to use the SPORE creature creator! The body of this guy was made there.

That Jraenar profile 'cartoony' pic is excellent. And best of all, it also fits well with SEV.
Btw, I did like your last 'spore' inspired alien profile. More spore pics please!
