|

So, folks - what shipsets would you most like to see for SE5, assuming an artist out there decided to grant your wish(es) ...? New, old, doesn't matter ... what would you want most?
For me:
- Tylmai (converted)
- Vidhrinne (converted)
- Sonne (converted)
- Ghizrea (converted)
- Angelican Regency (converted)
- Cytherian (converted)
^_^

Somebody likes John Beech.
He was working on a SE5 Tylmai, but seems to have abandoned them now...

^_^ Actually, the Tylmai, Ghizrea, sonne, and Vidhrinne I love because ... I like playing Energy-based races, and those shipsets suit them FAR better than any of the "metal hull" shipsets you usually find. Without transparencies of some sort - or better, a truly animated, FLOWING texture - they probably wouldn't work so well in SE5, to be honest.
I've got a new one to add, though:
Necromongers, a la Chronicles of Riddick. Wonderfully Art-Deco Gothic. O_O ... /me want ...!!

Tylmai/Vidhrine/Ghizrea (I remember having all three in games of se4.. and blowing up stars as they ignored everyone else and battled each other)
Taera (the first set I ever downloaded)
Aka, Mok, Mok'aka (they do look cool)

I'd like to see a classical Eee shipset.
No models, just giant translucent glowpoints in formation.

That does sound really cool. Does the game support polygonal transparencies? >_>
Just to add a little more beyond simple glowpoints.

I'm not sure I posted this here: http://www.spaceempires5.com/en-US/node/1647
Another vote for Bab5 ships, especially the Earth Alliance.

thats an amazing Cannon-Imperials set. It deviates from the nature of the Space Empires game, but it would be great for a mod, most definately. I guess for a non-cannon Imperial feel, one could use Atrocities Imperials, but for a cannon Imperial feel, they could use this one.

E3, I don't mean to be rude ... this is a pet peeve of mine, so it's not really your "problem", but:
[pedantry]
The word you're trying to use is canon. One N, not two.
"Cannon" is a gun, a weapon.
"Canon" is an established body of knowledge taken or accepted to be authoritative on it's subject.

Actually, that would be canonical ... at least, by EU standards. ^_^ "Galaxy Gun", anyone?

Starcraft? That has all of 4 air/space craft per side. Pointless, I'd say.

Cryslonite, Fazrah, Piundon, Praetorian, Sallega, Toltayan, Memnorak, Yvelon and the ones I forgot ...
I also whould like to see the Ur-Quan, and all the races from other sci-fi strategies.

Starlancer anyone? I know most of the ships were fighters, but there were some rather unique locking carriers and cap ships....
