Only domed pictures?

Just got a quick question, why is the picture of the planet surface always showing a domed colony regardless of the true status of the colony? Even the homeworld appears domed in the picture. Not a biggie but still a bit "unrealistic" if you may Razz

Because the graphics designer assumed that geodesic domes would be an efficient, popular architecture style in the future?

Keep in mind that the images are shared for all planets. There aren't separate images for native vs. non-native atmospheres.

Yeah well im just asking since the actual downside to colonizing a planet with a different atmosphere is that it will be domed and hence have a much smaller area to build facilities on.
Thats why its kinda funny to see domes on non-domed colonies.

The pictures are attached to the planet itself so it doesn't consider if the planet is domed or not. I suppose two images could be made for each current image, one depicting a dome colony and the other an undomed colony but it's not the most constructive use of time for MM when the game is er, buggy. Razz

Got another question :p
Is the only difference between crystalline / organic and standard hulls the fact that they cost radioactive / organic matter instead of minerals?
Just making sure im not missing out on something here Very Happy

i think there is also diference in STRUCTURE size but i cant confim

There is a minor difference in the resource cost. The sizes are the same minus a bug with dreadnoughts I believe that will be corrected by an upcoming patch.
