part of the point (of the second listing ) was that i didnt want any cargo-population i wanted only the colony so the player had to go populate the planet the first listing was for a traditional style colonizer

now for an update in testing for sev i have found that the colonize planet ability will not work as a unit (fighter,drone) hull ability

in testing so far i have tested the ability on a personal unit designtype (Vehicleunittypes.txt) based off the drone but can be controlled
and the hull with the ability added could not colonize
added the aility to a component and then installed component and again could not colonize
more testing ongoing laters


edit anyone want to put in a note to aaron asking if the ability is (supposed to be/presently) capable of working in a unit type vehicle
please be my guest if he asks i'll send archived testing files
(i could have made a mistake ya never know Smile )

Just make a 1kT ship hull with the necessary abilities built-in. 1 standard movement, cargo ability.

Smarter than your average Texrak.

aye i plan to

however i was hoping to actually use the unit
1 reason being creating my own unit type category
2 the seedship as cargo since i would prevent them from being warp capable
3 any planet can grow colony/seed ships only shipyards can create star/war ships
and other reasons

so you see why i figure to ask aaron in a couple of months (he's kinda busy right now Wink )

but when you ask about my endnote in a message about the seiv stuff i felt it to be only courteous to reply Smile

(once ive got 2 more things nailed down on my 10 pointlist i'll start a thread for the mod im working on)


courtesy has been taken to a high art form by the japanese partly due to the necessity of having such a large population in such a small landmass
comparativly speaking westerners are both savages and superiors
----- cultural scientist whose name escapes my sieve like mind
