I've set up several new avatars for use on the forums. So far, I have added all of the stock SE4 race portraits and the race portraits in Monolith's Portraits Pack. You can use these avatars by clicking on the Profile link at the top of the forum page and browsing the avatar gallery.

What other avatar packs would be good to add?

Sometimes I forget how good some of Monolith's SE:IV portraits were - too bad he didn't stick around longer.

I sure could use a variety of Tiger avatars. My other one on Shrapnel forums seems to be too big.

The avatars here are 64x64, as opposed to the 48x48 on Shrapnel. Of course, Shrapnel resizes larger avatars, whereas this forum doesn't allow them. Resize it to 64x64 and upload it in your profile. Smile

You can use Irfanview to resize it and save as JPG or so.

The file size limit is set so that non-bitmap 64x64 images should be just fine.

Animated avatars are also out of the question, sadly enough.

I'm inclined to say thankfully enough. Normal avatars are bad enough without bloody animated avatars.

They can be ok in moderation, but it's when people start using those bloody long cartoon ones. Now those, those are annoying.

10kb and less than 64 pixels? The picture was tiny after I got done resizing.

I'm dreading what it will look like when I post...

Well, it's not terrible, but it's still tiny. I've noticed that it's still smaller than the other ones, though.
